7th, March, 2015: Definitely Derby University!

Friday Selfie!
7th, March, 2015: Definitely derby University!

So i`m doing another update where i`ve waited a few days until i actually updated on what`s going on right now; makes it easier than uploading daily on only small things.
The week hasn`t been that eventful so this is basically going to be me rambling on about the same things over and over again.

.
I had to design the uniforms.
Out of everything we`ve had to do this week, this has been by far the most hands on thing we`ve done.
We had to do this task all day that was poorly named as "The Enterprise Project". We got put into teams with people that we don`t get along with as well as others.
My team got read out first; I was with Abbie, Rhiannon, Millie and Elliot who i never speak to and then i had James and Gerrard who i do talk to quite often.
so in these small groups we had to design numerous things for our Sixth form: Prospectus, Advertisement posters, uniforms, a promotional video and then a presentation so we could present it all at the end.
Out of every group, ours came first; we did put a lot of effort into it and worked through break and dinner to get everything done. I have to say though, if it wasn`t for Abbie taking lead and being such a great leader altogether then i think that i wouldn`t of spoken to anyone or done anything for the whole day. When we compared the way our team worked and to others when they where presenting, we could easily pick out who had done the work and who had, had a very boring day.
I have to say a HUGE thank you to Abbie for making the day less awkward and easier for us all, if it wasn`t for her then this week would of had to of been the worst week i`ve had in the Sixth Form; to have someone like that in your team for the whole day has to be the best feeling ever, because you know that you can actually talk because that one person has taken it upon themselves to ensure that everyone gets along and has something to do
(She doesn`t read the blog, but personally this is the only way i can say thank you to her since i can`t really walk up to her and say thank you when she`s in sixth form because she`ll have her friends there; and i know that as soon as i leave they would probably laugh and take the piss... But thank you Abbie)!

Friday had to be the best day of all!
For the last day of the intensive learning week, everyone taking the Level 3 courses had to go on a trip to Derby University. At first i was seriously annoyed about going there and i wasn`t even going to turn up on Friday; but by a little persuasion by the deputy head of Sixth Form i ended up going.
It has to be the best University we`ve been to so far. Just the atmosphere when you walk into the main campus feels absolutely amazing. So let me attempt to describe this to you...
Current Playing Field
When you first walk in, the main thing that you notice is the ramps and high how the ceiling is. There are ramps everywhere that make up small junctions leading to new levels of the main hall, they are mainly for wheelchair access... but the University gets that busy in-between lectures that they are always packed of people trying to get something to eat or to get to a new lecture theatre.
There are shops all over the place; Subway, convenient stores, the sell clothes, there`s a banking section and they even have their own hairdressers somewhere... I didn`t see it in that particular day.
As soon as you walk in, the most obvious things has to be the giant open space with tables set up, above that are some ramps that lead to Subway and stuff.
On our Lunch break, when we where aloud to walk around for a while, i met the awesome-st people i met there. there are tons of clubs and societies there and one of the second biggest ones is the Gaming Society; at lunch they all sit on PC`s, Xboxs and Wii`s that are hooked up to some huge TV`s.
So i went and spoke to them, and since i was the only one "brave" enough to go up to them; i was followed by a group of people who knew nothing about gaming or what these guys where currently doing. The largest group at the University is the ANIME AND MANGE club... ANIME AND MANGA FOR GODS SAKE, THEY HAVE A DEDICATED CLUB FOR ANIME FANS.

The way home.
So the gaming guys where actually raising money by doing a 24 Hour gaming session on the University campus for charity, i can`t remember the charity though.
So even though we where on the main campus for the tours and the whole visit; my group had a mentor who had taken the Expressive and Therapeutic Art course which is the exact on that i wanted to do.
So whilst Emma was showing us around the main Derby Campus she was filling us in on the Art campus and the kind of things that they do over there. what surprised me the most was the fact that they had a whole separate Campus dedicated to Art students.

The things that interested me the most about the University had to be the new building on the Main campus which was going to be dedicated for Sports and new sports facilities. The fact that they had a whole separate Art campus which is only 5-10 minutes away from the Main campus, and, there is a unibus that goes there for free every 10 minutes or so.
I`m also really into sports in my spare time; so it`s really cool to know that anyone can sign up for a subscription for the gym which is only £10 a month... When compared to the gym near me is amazing, the one that i signed up for is about £6 per session.
Also; the range of clubs and societies that you can sign up for is awesome. some of my favorites had to be; Anime and Manga club, Gaming society, Zombie Nation, Sports and there loads of other cool ones that i`m sure i`ll sign up for when it comes to it.
I think that this University is defiantly what i want; it has the right courses, the best atmosphere, some of the most friendliest students i`ve ever met, amazing lecture facilities and amazing pass time clubs.
The Maximum amount of time your expected to be at the University at a week is about 15 hours and at summer all Universities get about 4 months off... So i`m going to have plenty of time for the clubs and societies, a part time job, to do more coursework and i`ll actually have time to have a social life!
This Saturday i haven`t done much again...
I`ve seen David again and got my early birthday present off of him and then when i was walking through town i met my bestie Ishbie (Iseboa) and got my early birthday present off of her.
Ishbie (Iseboa), got me some nom nom sweets and some amazingly scented Yankie Candles.
Then David got me this amazingly fluffy bright pink onezie; he has a huge fluffy grey one that i usually wear whenever i stay around. He did ask me what i wanted for my birthday, i told him not to get me much and something quite small....
But i`m wearing this onezie right now, it`s amazing. seriously amazing.
